An exciting STEAM experience

Think Inside the Box methodology focuses on a 3-day technological event that arouses kids’ interest and provides skill development in a short time. Teams will create models of Rube Goldberg machine inside a given box, building and programming with their preferred tools. This hands-on experience will provide learners with concrete results that can be easily acknowledged, observed, shared, and appreciated. PBL, IBSE and Engineering methods will be implemented to increase student engagement and motivation.

Students create a mechanism inside the cardboard box that transports the ball (usually 6 mm) from the bottom to the top or vice versa. Students receive the same basic packages of parts and tools. The number of initial games depends on the difficulty. Students then gain a basic understanding of 3D design and microcontroller control. After training, they begin to produce and refine their imaginary mechanisms, the mechanism should move the ball from one point to another. Finally, the completed works are presented to each other. There is an ongoing debate about this.
